Additional Information – Whilst not essential, candidates with previous bar experience are particularly welcome.  Post holders will support a wide range of events and functions at the beautiful Beach Ballroom and will be an integral part of our Hospitality team ensuring customer service standards are maintained at a high level.  Full training will be given.
As a Casual Catering Assistant, you would be added to our Relief Staff Pool and would be contacted to work on an as and when’   basis to support a wide range of events and functions at the Beach Ballroom during the day, evenings and weekend.
As post holders will have a casual contract, there are no guaranteed hours, but hours you select can fit around your own schedule.

Aberdeen Scientific Services Laboratory (ASSL) is currently recruiting a highly motivated Laboratory Manager with commercial acumen to lead a team of highly qualified and experienced analytical chemists and microbiologists.
Aberdeen is a lively and cosmopolitan city at the heart of a region recognised for its high quality of life. It effortlessly combines the benefits of metropolitan life with a range of sporting activities and other pursuits as well as easy access to the stunning scenery of Royal Deeside and the beautiful NE coast. Aberdeen City Council (Municipal Journal’s Local Authority of the Year in 2020) offers flexible working and is a member of the local government pension scheme.

ASSL, part of the Food Authenticity Network, is one of only seven public sector official food and feed control (Public Analyst) laboratories in the UK and is UKAS accredited to both ISO 17025:2017 and Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) standards. We carry out a wide range of chemical analysis and microbiological examination on food, animal feed, potable and non-potable waters for public and private sector clients who value us for the quality of our work, knowledge of legislation and customer engagement.

We seek to appoint an individual with extensive post graduate practical and management experience, ideally with a keen commercial awareness. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of compiling test reports, internal audit, leading teams and financial and quality management in an ISO 17025 accredited chemistry or microbiology laboratory. Plans to co-locate with the James Hutton Institute at Craigiebuckler are at an advanced stage and the successful applicant will play a key part in the development opportunities that will follow.
