Annual leave has been uploaded and is now available to book on CoreHR and as such should no longer be recorded/booked via YourHR.
If you do not have a visible balance then you should contact AskHR@aberdeencity.gov.uk
Points to note:
- Annual leave is shown in CoreHR as hours and minutes as opposed to hours and decimals
- The current leave year for BAC staff 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 is shown as 2020 in CoreHR
- Annual leave will now be accrued in calendar days as opposed to completed months
- Any agreed carry forward as a result of long term sick leave/maternity leave will be manually input at the HR Service Centre

Booking annual leave on CoreHR:
Annual leave is now available to book on CoreHR and any annual leave carried over from 2019 has been transferred to your balance. This will show as “remaining” leave for 2019 and will carry forward automatically to 2020.
Your annual leave balance for 2020 should now be visible on CoreHR (from 3rd Jan), therefore you will now be able to book annual leave for 2020.
Annual Leave is now available alongside Special Leave and Disability Leave to book on CoreHR by clicking on the “Leave” tab then the “Book Time Off” option.
Please Note – You will need to book the two Company Closure days in December (2020) if you would normally work them.
* If you receive annual leave in hours, you will need to book annual leave for the public holiday dates and company closure days if you would normally work them.
You can also now view your standard shift pattern on the Time tab in CoreHR.

Annual Leave is available via the leave tab on your CoreHR employee dashboard. Please see the CoreHR guides for further guidance on booking annual leave.
CoreHR will only deduct working days/hours from your balance – just enter the start and finish dates of your annual leave and the correct number of days/hours will be deduced from your entitlement.
Under “My Requests”, you should see the annual leave request you submitted. Click on the menu button (⋮) and select cancel. You can then resubmit your leave request.
Yes, your annual leave balance will be automatically amended at the beginning of 2020 to include your new entitlement.
The figure is in hours and minutes, for example if you have 2.45 leave remaining, this is 2 hours and 45 minutes (not 2.75 hours).
If your manager has not set up a delegation to allow someone else to authorise leave on their behalf, the request will remain unapproved until they approve it on their return. Their manager can request access to their team by emailing AskHR if necessary.
Where a manager has left the organisation, CoreHR will automatically divert your approvals to your manager’s manager until your new manager is in post.
You will only need to book Public Holidays if this is a normal working day for you and your annual leave is calculated in hours. If you have recently amended your hours from/to full time, it may take a short period of time for your leave type to be updated. If not, you may have the wrong annual leave type. Please contact AskHR to have this amended.
