During these unprecedented times, we are aware that people will have questions about annual leave and when this should be taken. Whilst the Government have stated that in cases where it is not reasonably practicable, due to the effects of coronavirus, for an employee to take all or some of their annual leave a proportion can be carried forward, we would still be encouraging staff to take planned annual leave in order to have a break from work and recharge their batteries. There may be some services in which you could be asked to cancel planned leave, or not to book leave, due to the impacts of coronavirus, however In many cases staff will still be able to take annual leave as planned and should not cancel planned leave without agreement from their line manager.
Where at all possible, to look after our mental and physical wellbeing at this time, a proportion of annual leave should continue to be booked and taken at regular intervals during the year and managers should look to encourage and support this where at all possible, in line with operational needs.
Annual Leave for 2020 can now be booked through the new CoreHR system. References on People Anytime pages to the YourHR system will be removed/updated shortly. To find out how to book Annual Leave on CoreHR click on the button opposite:
